I've searched much, but since doing a complete reinstall of Grub2,
I've noted a problem. I've been using Grub2 for sometime and never had this issue.
I usually maintain several kernels, which display in the Grub2 sub menu.
These kernel are no longer visible when I select that sub menu. It gives that latest
kernel and recovery.

I've checked /etc/default/grub and /etc/grub.d and after many searches it is not clear
what changes are necessary to correct this problem. In the previous installation
I did not edit any files. I might add that the recent Grub2 installation /boot/grub
had to be created where that was necessary before.

Any suggestions on correcting this would be appreciated.

TIA

A.S. Pushkin,
I had something similar in the past. How many kernels are in /boot?
Could you copy some kernels to a safe place?
So only 4 kernels in /boot and try again.

Right now I have just three with their Systemmaps and config files.
I will copy them to another location.

I've considered reinstalling Grub2 without uninstalling, but don't like the idea of doing so
without knowing the consequences.

Thanks!
