Hallo friends.
With your help I made a big step in installing (emerging) plasma-5.13.3.
Now I need to add several packages and parts to this basic packages.
I have two ethernet plugs and one wlan card (an rtl8821ae with integrated bluetooth).
While I was able to activate bluetooth and see also a bluetooth applet in the task bar,
I failed with getting a nm-applet visible in the same taskbar.
I have emerged plasma-nm with:
Code:
emerge -a =kde-plasma/plasma-nm-5.13.3
and checked, it is installed now.

Then I enabled systemd-networkd.service and after this command I rebooted. When back again, I checked for status:
Code:
systemctl status systemd-networkd
● systemd-networkd.service - Network Service
   Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/systemd-networkd.service; enabled; vendo>
Active: active (running) since Sat 2018-07-21 21:42:22 CEST; 31min ago
     Docs: man:systemd-networkd.service(8)
 Main PID: 2261 (systemd-network)
   Status: "Processing requests..."
   CGroup: /system.slice/systemd-networkd.service
           └─2261 /lib/systemd/systemd-networkd

Jul 21 22:09:19 gentux systemd-networkd[2261]: enp0s31f6: Gained IPv6LL

net-misc/dhcp is also installed (emerged).
But there's still no plasma-nm applet in the taskbar. Without, I cannot connect with my wireless lan.

So, what can I do else, pls?

Thank you.

Hallo friends.
I still try to activate / to make visible the plasma-nm applet.
In Google I saw some hints to start:
Code:
systemctl enable NetworkManager.service

But there is no NetworkManager.service.

So, pls, what else do I need to start then instead?
Emerging kde-apps/kdenetwork-meta-18.04.3 did not solve my problem.

Thank you in advance.

Hallo friends.
Due to the problems in this thread:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1084236-highlight-.html

I made a big mistake!
After solving the problem in the thread above, I still was not able to see my plasma-nm.
Yes, I tried several else then to make this applet visible, especially, I tried to
Code:
emerge kde-apps/kdenetwork-meta-18.04.3

which finally, was useless.

The point was always, that there was no NetworkManager running (sterted by systemd) on my system.
But I forgot that due to the thread of slow boot (see third line), I disabled networkmanager,
so that it was clear, no plasma networkmanager applet could appear.
So, then, when I got conscious about that, I started:
Code:
systemctl enable NetworkManager
rebooted, and, yes, now I have got a plasma-nm

This was my mistake, I'm sorry for that. Now I will report, that this topic is solved now.

Thank you for your interest.
