|
|
Hello,
I recently install gentoo.
I try to ssh connect
but it keep asking for passowrd.
trying to start is with debug I see
"
debug1: Unable to open the btmp file /var/log/btmp: No such file or directory
debug1: userauth-request for user mat service ssh-connection method password
debug1: attempt 2 failures 1
"
I "fixed" it by creating empty file with 0600 privilege.
But now I get
"Failed keyboard-interactive/pam for invalid user"
Any idea what's wrong ?
Regards,
ranran |

per default sshd is configure to refuse root login.
so the question is : are you trying to log as root? |

On login of the system it should tell you, simply set a root password and you are good to go.
