Is this something with the file permissions of the /tmp/ folder or something?

edit: I've gotten sway to open after I've edit .bash_profile and fixed some typos on the snippet of code relating to weston but I'm having another problem.
I can't switch workspaces or open up terminals. I hope that this log file has any use but so far it doesn't tell me anything.

edit: Okay I've fixed this by making a non-root xorg (I have not much of a clue that I still needed xorg.) Now I just need to get the bash prompt to look normal as it is just blocks. Do you guys have any pointers to fixing this?

Well, if you start sway, sway starts Xwayland - and Xwayland is part of x11-base/xorg-server...

Which terminal do you use? Did you install x11-base/xorg-server? What do you mean with: 'the bash prompt just blocks'? A process can block... But a prompt?

What happens if you press Win-Enter? Do you get a new terminal window? Can you work in this terminal window? If everything is fine and it's just the prompt that looks weird, try:
Code:
PS1=' -> '

Did the prompt change to ' -> '?

Please also try:
Code:
. /etc/profile

Do you now get the prompt you expected?
