|
|
Hey everyone,
I've tried to update gcc as per notes in an eselect news item that recommended I run:
emerge --ask --oneshot ">=dev-libs/mpfr-4" dev-libs/mpc sys-devel/gcc
The emerge of mpc failed saying:
Code: | * Messages for package dev-libs/mpc-1.0.3:
* ERROR: dev-libs/mpc-1.0.3::gentoo failed (compile phase):
* emake failed
*
* If you need support, post the output of `emerge --info '=dev-libs/mpc-1.0.3::gentoo'`,
* the complete build log and the output of `emerge -pqv '=dev-libs/mpc-1.0.3::gentoo'`.
* The complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/mpc-1.0.3/temp/build.log'.
* The ebuild environment file is located at '/var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/mpc-1.0.3/temp/environment'.
* Working directory: '/var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/mpc-1.0.3/work/mpc-1.0.3-abi_x86_64.amd64'
* S: '/var/tmp/portage/dev-libs/mpc-1.0.3/work/mpc-1.0.3' |
The output of `emerge --info '=dev-libs/mpc-1.0.3::gentoo'`:
Code: | Portage 2.3.40 (python 3.5.5-final-0, default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/plasma/systemd, gcc-6.4.0, glibc-2.26-r7, 4.9.95-gentoo x86_64)

dev-libs/mpc-1.0.3::gentoo was built with the following:
USE="-static-libs" ABI_X86="(64) -32 (-x32)"
CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="-O2 -pipe" |
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

I don't know why news is listed, but in a stable system I don't think that this upgrade is to be performed _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Thanks for the quick reply fedeliallalinea! Do I understand correctly that `emerge @preserved-rebuild` will undo the attempted changes? |

I think you can also run command
Code: | # emerge --ask --oneshot dev-libs/mpfr dev-libs/mpc sys-devel/gcc |
before remove mpfr entry in /etc/portage/package.accept_keywords _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |
