How did you know? Did they say so?

"Liberalism" isn't a synonym for "Logic"...

They seem to do a lot of these things:

1. State opposite points based on what's convenient at the time.
2. Be very adamant of what they believe in. The belief seems to be rooted in emotions rather than logic.
2. Play semantics and other tricks to dodge questions. I think they dodge the questions cause they don't want to confront their own belief.
3. Have a holier-than-thou attitude of righteousness. Anything challenging their views are marked as evil.
4. Are actually authoritarian. e.g. "My view is the only correct one. You oppose it only because you're stupid/don't know any better"

I always assumed that the Liberals were the freethinkers, that they'd actually allow the freedom of having opposing viewpoints. So, these 'Liberals' shouldn't actually be called as such, right?
No, they shouldn't.

As a liberal you have the freedom of a wide range of views as you see fit according to your knowledge and your morals. That's quite contrary to socialism, marxism, fascism, nationalism, plutocracy and so on. In these you are only allowed a quite narrow range, almost tunnel vision.

However, to be a real liberal you have to generally support civil rights, democracy, secularism, gender and race equality, internationalism and the freedoms of speech, the press, religion and markets. ( Which simply can be too much of a "live-and-let-live"-principle for most... )

You said facism rises when those in charge feel threatened by change. Well the people that have been in charge.... the multiculturalism new world order no borders people, otherwise known as the "Swamp," are doing everything they can to stop the will of the American voter that wants change.

Your definition.... not mine.

In Europe too! Don't forget thoughtCrimeLand! If thoughtCrime isn't "fascist", I don't know what is. And criminalizing "wrong" speech is tantamount to criminalizing "wrong" thoughts, whether people want to admit it or not.

In Europe, we liberals tend to call ourselves libertarians so we're not accidentally mistaken as left-wing idiots.
