Hi,
never had this before. I have a intel n3150. When issuing an init 6 or init 0 then gentoo shuts all services down but instead of rebooting, it just stays there forever after openrc is finished.
Is there a kernel option I forgot to set?? |

bastibasti ... given the various other posts with shutdown issues I'd suggest you roll back openrc to a known working version. I can't say this will fix it but at this point the most probably cause is openrc (note, you might check if/when openrc was updated and see if this coincides with the issue).

The system is updated weekly. The strange thing is it happens only on this one server..
I've addad ACPI=force and I will see it it solves... Its a bit of a headache. this is my one far away remote machine that I cant get to. I was already considering adding a raspberry pi zero and let it trigger the reset button via remote lol
Please tell me that gentoo is not going systemctl |

bastibasti ... for that reason I wouldn't do updates on openrc ... as developers have proved over time that they can't be trusted with critical system components.

One of my systems sometimes didn't shut down when using halt or reboot but shutdown -h now and shutdown -r now worked. |
