Hallo,

Ich habe seit einigen Tagen, das im Titel erwähnte Problem.
Verursacht wird es durch einen Vorgang am Ende des SYNC-Prozesses.
Beispielhaft:
Code:
 * Manifest timestamp: ...
 * Valid OpenPGP signature found:
 * - primary key: DCD05.......
 * - subkey: E1D6A.........
 * - timestamp: ...
 * Verifying /usr/portage ...

Das kann manchmal recht lange dauern.
Stimmt da was nicht, oder ist das ein neues Feature ?

Feature. Endlich wir kryptographisch überprüft, dass das Gentoo-Repository nicht durch einen Hoster/Provider/MITM kompromittiert wurde.
Das Features lässt sich zwar abschalten (Konfiguration von repos.conf oder USE=-rsync-verify für portage) aber ich würde dringend davon abraten, dies zu tun.

Im Gegensatz zu github/com/gentoo/gentoo.git braucht das immensen Speicherplatz, weil die gigantische Geschichte von metadata/md5-cache gespeichert werden muss.

Wenn man allerdings das "schlanke" Repository installiert, muss man den md5-cache selbst berechnen (und noch einige weitere Daten holen; letztere sind möglicherweise oben auch nicht dabei...); dies geht beispielsweise mit portage-postsyncd-mv (etwa aus dem mv overlay). Das Berechnen des md5-cache kann aber - je nach Änderungen - sehr viel länger als 1-2 Minuten dauern.
Der Vorteil von git wäre hier also weniger die Zeitersparnis beim Syncen, sondern eher, dass man die Geschichte hat (es gibt ja keine ChangeLogs mehr).
Nebenbei dürfte das auch die Möglichkeit sein, die die wenigsten Daten überträgt.

Die Zeitersparnis finde ich schon ganz ordentlich. Nebenbei dürfte das auch die Möglichkeit sein, die die wenigsten Daten überträgt.
Und nicht zu vergessen, der Git commit step ist sehr viel kürzer als die rsync Phase, sprich, das Repo ist eine wesentlich kürzere Zeitspanne nicht konsistent (was insbesondere von Vorteil ist, wenn das Repo als Filesystem geshared wird)
