I' getting the message: Code: | "Loading of providers from file: http://download.kde.org/ocs/providers.xml failed | You can see similar here KDE forum post and here Ubuntu confirmed bug.
The behavior I'm observing is that the first time I attempt to use the providers function, it works seemingly without regard to what I try to use it for such as getting new 'cursor theme' or 'desktop theme' or 'new color scheme'. The next time I try to invoke the providers function, it fails with the above message. If I close 'kde system settings' and re-open it, then it work again for whichever theme set I want to try one time and then fails for all of them again.
Apparently the re-direction to https://autoconfig.kde.org/ocs/providers.xml works once and then fails every time until you restart 'kde system settings' again.
While the claim in the ubuntu bug report is that setting up the xml file to be served locally works, I'm not thrilled with attempting that kind of work-around. Is anyone having the same problem. Is there are better work-around. I'd like for this function to be reliable. Having to constantly restart 'kde system settings' is just not right.
If anyone can replicate this, please feel free to bump this upstream. I just recently lost all my 'bug' reporting passwords (don't ask) and I'm not really ready to start reporting bugs again. _________________ People whom think M$ is mediocre, don't know the half of it. |
