i used gentoo openRC + KDE plasma + zsh . bgnotify is enable in .zshrc
when I type "sleep 5" in terminal, I can get a notice in right bottom with sound


but when i change to XFCE . i can only get a notice or not. but Never get a sound .can anybody help me? xfce4-notifyd is ok

This isn't a feature of Xfce I normally use, but I wonder if it's simply not coded to provide sound for this event.

My first thought, though, is to ask if sound works otherwise while you're using Xfce.
