Hi,
It happened at least twice within a fortnight that pulseaudio didn't restart after a reboot.
All because ~/.config/pulse directory ownership has been switched to root:root :evil

- As for pulseaudio client applications, both Mixxx & Firefox requesting Utube videos were concurrently running prior to reboot.

- Stable x11-proto/* have been updated prior to reboot.

Side notes (possibly unrelated):
A: Despite Mixxx effectively blocks concurrent pulseaudio requests and therefore inhibits video playing, e.g in Firefox, likely because of functionnal dependancy, it may happen such video playing requests to be performed soundless whilst audio remains dedicated to Mixxx. No idea if ownership corruption & later reported odd behavior are somehow related.
