klas,
A segfault is what happens when a piece of code tries to access RAM that its not allowed to.
segfaults should not happen to users.
As its just you, it may indicate faulty hardware.
Consider faulty RAM
Overheating, possibly when the code was compiled.
Overclocking ...
Boot into memtest86 and run a few cycles.
Tell us about your hardware. _________________ Regards,

Hi
Thanks for your reply. I did a mem test and it passed all the tests . I went and did an overall tests for the computer and all passed, not a single failure |

klas,
I suspect overheating induced errors.
Is the Code: | alacarte[5635]: segfault at 0 ip 00007f100a36ad39 sp 00007ffd24d34e00 error 4 in libgtk-3.so.0.2200.19[7f100a087000+6fa000] | reproducible?
If the error is *identical* at every attempt, its likely to be a build time issue rather that a run time issue.
That the error mentions both alacarte and libgtk-3.so.0.2200.19 does not infer that one of those packages is the problem. More testing is required.
Look at the output of on your system.
Try other packages that depend on gtk-3. _________________ Regards,

The command Code: | rc-update del NetworkManager | solved my issue. |

It was a bit strange for me that removing Networkmanager from the default at boot solved my issue , after i uninstall nm-applet and other like connman |

As a blind guess based on the observed symptoms, perhaps NetworkManager changed system state in a way that alacarte could not connect to a resource it required, and alacarte has a bug that makes such failures end with a crash instead of an error message.
OP, did any other programs crash when NetworkManager had been used? Did any programs fail with an error message, but not crash? |
