Hi, all. I am trying to install cifs-utils, but it gives me a block.
All i get is this:
Code: | emerge -pvuDNt cifs-utils
These are the packages that would be merged, in reverse order:

cifs-utils -> samba -> ldb -> openldap -> libressl
If i modify USE like this:
Code: | =net-nds/openldap-2.4.44 -ssl |
It will not have blocks.
But if i need "ssl", then what should i do can solve this block?

This is stragne with your use flag openldap should require openssl
Code: | ssl? (
!gnutls? (
!libressl? ( >=dev-libs/openssl-1.0.1h-r2:0[${MULTILIB_USEDEP}] )
)
gnutls? ( >=net-libs/gnutls-2.12.23-r6[${MULTILIB_USEDEP}]
libressl? ( dev-libs/libressl[${MULTILIB_USEDEP}] )
>=dev-libs/libgcrypt-1.5.3:0[${MULTILIB_USEDEP}] ) ) |
In my system no proble with these use flag
Code: | [ebuild R ] net-nds/openldap-2.4.44 USE="berkdb crypt ipv6 minimal ssl syslog tcpd -cxx -debug -experimental -gnutls -iodbc -kerberos -kinit -libressl -odbc -overlays -perl -samba -sasl (-selinux) -slp -smbkrb5passwd -static-libs" ABI_X86="(64) -32 (-x32)" |
As workaround you can try to enable ssl and gnutls for ssl support. _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Hm yes, this blocker is strange.. :-/
Suggestion:
1) Please check is the current >=sys-apps/portage-2.3.19-r1 installed
if not, then please update sys-apps/portage first.
2) Add dev-libs/openssl temporally in /etc/portage/package.mask
and run the command again - then it should hopefully give a helpful error message.
/edit: Or/and try it with Code: | emerge -avuDN @world --backtrack=30 net-fs/cifs-utils |

I add gnutls, but the error exist.
I find use command emerge with -u or not will have different results.

For more information about Blocked Packages, please refer to the following
section of the Gentoo Linux x86 Handbook (architecture is irrelevant):
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:X86/Working/Portage#Blocked_packages
!!! The following installed packages are masked:
- dev-libs/openssl-1.0.2n::gentoo (masked by: package.mask, bindist in RESTRICT)
For more information, see the MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge
man page or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.

Oops, I made a mistake, I meant add dev-libs/libressl temporally in /etc/portage/package.mask
(not dev-libs/openssl)
sorry.. :-/ |

I solve this problem if i write "dev-libs/openssl bindist" in /etc/portage/package.accept_restrict/openssl .
Thank you anyway. |
