I have a problem while

Code:
emerge xfce-base/xfwm4 xfce-base/xfce4-panel

It tries to sys-apps/acl-2.2.52-r1 as a first package (1 of 175) and returns the error.
Here is the complete log
https://pastebin.com/pwV2TjLZ

cookie0,

Welcome to Gentoo.

Posts are at most, 64k long, which is too small to contain most build logs. Indeed, your post is truncated before the error.
Please use wgetpaste to put the log onto a pastebin site and post a link here.

You will need to
Code:
emerge wgetpaste
to get started.

Hi there cookie0,

As Neddy mentioned, welcome to Gentoo! Can you please post the output of
Code:
emerge --info
.
Are you using uClibc?

Cheers,
Nathan Zachary

Ah, yes, you are using uClibc, and my experience there is very limited.
Did you follow the instructions on the wiki?
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Hardened_uClibc

Are you getting compilation errors on any other packages?

I may be mistaken, but it has been my understanding that uClibc is best suited for embedded environments. If you're working on a general-purpose system, you may be better served using GCC/glibc instead.

For more information, please see the following two Wiki pages:
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/CHOST
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Profile_(Portage)

Your profile is set to the default AMD64 17.0 desktop. That should have defaulted to a standard CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" and no CBUILD defined in /etc/portage/make.conf.

Cheers,
Nathan Zachary

cookie0,

Did you intend to use a uclibc-ng install?

I've changed the profile but the problem remains.
To be honest I have no idea why uclibc-ng is installed.Should I remove it?

Try doing an

Code:
eselect profile list

and then setting it again to the number corresponding to 'default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop'.
Then make sure that your CHOST settings are 'x86_64-pc-linux-gnu' and there is no CBUILD set in /etc/portage/make.conf.
You will probably have to rebuild the tree at that point.
If you're not all that far along in the initial installation, it may make sense for you to redo it and follow the AMD64 handbook. It will take more time, but could ensure greater consistency from the start.

Cheers,
Nathan Zachary

cookie0,

To change libc, you need to reinstall using a different stage3 tarball.

Does it mean that all compilation should be repeat or can I do something to save the current instalation?

cookie0,

You wipe the install and start again.

Almost everything is dynamically linked against your libc. If you change the libc, everything will be broken.

You won't need to relearn everything you have already learned about Gentoo, so your new install will be faster.
