i am using a spanish keyboard configuration , and i need to change Shif_L to less-greater key to be more ergonomic for my left wrist.

https://i.imgur.com/5EejnXN.jpg

the defaults in my keyboard are
keycode 50 = Shift_L NoSymbol Shift_L NoSymbol Shift_L for left shift
keycode 94 = less greater less greater bar brokenbar bar for less-greater (<>)

to remaping i use (this is temporaly changes for testing) when i works i shall put in .Xmodmap

Code:
xmodmap -e "keycode 50 = less greater less greater bar brokenbar bar"
xmodmap -e "keycode 94 = Shift_L NoSymbol Shift_L

the changes are working on both but left shit key continues with his original function when you keep the key pressed, and new less-greater funtion in single pression.

what am I doing wrong?

thanks a lot
