|
|
I have an HP printer and the appropriate PPD file which I pulled from HPLIP I installed the printer over network as it was detected by cups and used the ppd but whenever I try to print I get:
file /usr/libexec/cups/filter/hpcups - not available
from KDEs printer utility, infact that file does not exist and I beleive cups does not have it and that it must be pulled from HPLIP, how do I go about making this printer work?

H,
As you already said, this backend is in hplip. Install this package via emerge and you should be ready to go.
Code: |
$ equery f hplip | grep hpcups
/usr/libexec/cups/filter/hpcups
/usr/share/cups/drv/hp/hpcups.drv
$
