Hi folks,
I play the mentioned games for a while. But last Saturday, they stop running. I don´t know, if it occurs after the daily "emerge -uDN world" or connected with a steam update. The only hint is
Code: | Dec 20 19:38:41 [kernel] traps: Civ5XP[3647] general protection ip:20aa22c1 sp:24dca174 error:0 in libpulsecommon-11.1.so[20a50000+91000]
Dec 20 19:39:10 [kernel] traps: BorderlandsPreS[3681] general protection ip:221fa2c1 sp:ffaf11a4 error:0 in libpulsecommon-11.1.so[221a8000+91000] |
in the logs. A downgrade to media-sound/pulseaudio-10.0 didn´t solve the problem. Other games (Metro, Cities Skyline) are working fine.
if I try to start Borderlands from the cli
Code: | Game update: AppID 261640 "", ProcID 4960, IP 0.0.0.0:0

Can anybody help me??
Thanks in advance!!!

What "other thread" are you talking about? I've had problems out of The PreSequel for months now and would like to find the solution. |

ran into this as well, but I don't know if it's related to the other reports here.
Turns out, gcc-7.2 has a bug which causes miscompilation of 32bit-glibc strspn() function:
GCC BZ#81481. Apply the patch to gcc-7.2, rebuild glibc (or better: all 32bit libs)
with this patched gcc, Portal 1/2 and Civ 5 are running again.
[Moderator edit: For convenience of future readers, added a [url] tag to link to the gcc bug report. -Hu] |
