Hi,
I'm having some strange behavoiur with the root file system and want to run fsck on /dev/sda2

however.
Code:
touch /forcefsck
didn't work. How am I supposed to check the / - file system? I'm on systemd, and

uname -ra
Linux eg-server 4.14.14-gentoo #1 SMP Thu Jan 18 10:41:02 CET 2018 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 630 Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
in case it matters

EDIT: some different tool perhaps, since

tune2fs -l /dev/sda2 | grep Last\ c
Last checked:             Sun Dec 30 00:55:30 2012

Try adding the fsck.mode=force boot parameter to the kernel.

How 'bout using good, old fashioned
shutdown -r -F now
