Hello, i have problem, i have touchpad but it's not synaptics touchpad, but when i enable touchpad use flag for plasma-desktop, emerge add xf86-input-synaptics driver.
Is it possible to prevent that ? Because I think that's what's blocking the configuration of my touchpad in the configuration settings
Code: | fulgurance@MSI-GS73VR-6RF ~ $ sudo emerge --ask plasma-desktop
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ] x11-drivers/xf86-input-synaptics-1.9.0
[ebuild R ] kde-plasma/plasma-desktop-5.11.4 USE="touchpad*"
Would you like to merge these packages? [Yes/No] |

Yes with /etc/portage/package.use
Code: | # echo "kde-plasma/plasma-desktop -touchpad" >> /etc/portage/package.use |
Is touchpad use flag that require synaptics driver _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

It is still possible that plasma-desktop[touchpad] is useful to you even though you don't have a synaptics touchpad. It just needs some of its headers to build. |

I see... Do you get any errors in the log files regarding the touchpad?
Have you tried configuring the touchpad via command line? Maybe that could be a work around instead of using the KDE utility. |

It seems like people are talking past each other here. The touchpad works, it's just the control panel you want, correct? Try installing x11-misc/libinput-gestures[kde] instead. |
