I just received the eselect news read below:

Quote:

2017-11-30-new-17-profiles
Title New 17.0 profiles in the Gentoo repository
Author Andreas K. Hüttel <dilfridge@gentoo.org>
Posted 2017-11-30
Revision

which states, among other things, that:

Quote:

3) Up to now, hardened profiles were separate from the default
profile tree. Now they are moving into the 17.0 profile
as a feature there, similar to "no-multilib" and "systemd".

My problem is that my current profile is none of the 13.0, I use hardened/linux/amd64/selinux as you can see below:

Quote:

mossadegh ~ # eselect profile list
Available profile symlink targets:
[1] default/linux/amd64/13.0
[2] default/linux/amd64/13.0/selinux
[3] default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop
[4] default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/gnome
[5] default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/gnome/systemd
[6] default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/plasma
[7] default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/plasma/systemd
[8] default/linux/amd64/13.0/developer
[9] default/linux/amd64/13.0/no-multilib
[10] default/linux/amd64/13.0/systemd
[11] default/linux/amd64/13.0/x32
[12] default/linux/amd64/17.0
[13] default/linux/amd64/17.0/selinux
[14] default/linux/amd64/17.0/hardened
[15] default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop
[16] default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/gnome
[17] default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/gnome/systemd
[18] default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/plasma
[19] default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/plasma/systemd
[20] default/linux/amd64/17.0/developer
[21] default/linux/amd64/17.0/no-multilib
[22] default/linux/amd64/17.0/systemd
[23] default/linux/amd64/17.0/x32
[24] hardened/linux/amd64
[25] hardened/linux/amd64/selinux *
[26] hardened/linux/amd64/no-multilib
[27] hardened/linux/amd64/no-multilib/selinux
[28] hardened/linux/amd64/x32
[29] hardened/linux/musl/amd64
[30] hardened/linux/musl/amd64/x32
[31] default/linux/uclibc/amd64
[32] hardened/linux/uclibc/amd64

So, am I in trouble? I mean, because there seems to be no 17.0 profile analogous to the one I am currently running, there is default/linux/amd64/17.0/selinux and default/linux/amd64/17.0/hardened, but nothing like default/linux/amd64/17.0/hardened/selinux.

Thank you!

vcmota,

File a bug. Your profile won't go away any time soon.

The bug has been marked as solved. Take a look:

Code:

vinicius@mossadegh ~ $ sudo eselect profile list > test
Available profile symlink targets:
  [1]   default/linux/amd64/13.0
  [2]   default/linux/amd64/13.0/selinux
  [3]   default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop
  [4]   default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/gnome
  [5]   default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/gnome/systemd
  [6]   default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/plasma
  [7]   default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/plasma/systemd
  [8]   default/linux/amd64/13.0/developer
  [9]   default/linux/amd64/13.0/no-multilib
  [10]  default/linux/amd64/13.0/systemd
  [11]  default/linux/amd64/13.0/x32
  [12]  default/linux/amd64/17.0
  [13]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/selinux
  [14]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/hardened
  [15]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/hardened/selinux
  [16]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop
  [17]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/gnome
  [18]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/gnome/systemd
  [19]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/plasma
  [20]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/plasma/systemd
  [21]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/developer
  [22]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/no-multilib
  [23]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/systemd
  [24]  default/linux/amd64/17.0/x32
  [25]  hardened/linux/amd64
  [26]  hardened/linux/amd64/selinux *
  [27]  hardened/linux/amd64/no-multilib
  [28]  hardened/linux/amd64/no-multilib/selinux
  [29]  hardened/linux/amd64/x32
  [30]  hardened/linux/musl/amd64
  [31]  hardened/linux/musl/amd64/x32
  [32]  default/linux/uclibc/amd64
  [33]  hardened/linux/uclibc/amd64

There is an additional profile, number 15, which I guess would be the replacement for the current hardened/selinux profile. I am going to migrate today and I will post here the result, although I will let the thread marked as SOLVED already.
Thank you all again!

Just updated the system: 14 rebuilds in one of my installs and 15 in the other, and everything went beautifully. Restarted the system and everything is just fine.
