|
|
Hello,
Almost every second time I press the shutdown button in the upper right corner in my GNOME environment to shutdown or reboot my machine, GNOME freezes around for 30s until the little dialog for shutdown/reboot appears.
I recently re-emerged my whole system (official stable GNOME with systemd) and the problem persists.
But this issue is also on my second PC, GNOME from dantrell (3.26).
What can be the issue here? Anyone having it too?

I don't use GNOME anymore, but did you try checking the output of the following command?

Do you use the Caffeine extension perhaps? If so, please have a look at this bug on GitHub. |

You are right! Wow, that you found this! This bug is open for more than 2 years, they have problems to solve it...
I will try to read up more about it or find an alternative to Caffeine |

According to the comments you may try the Keep Awake GNOME extension:
Please note that I have never tried it personally. |

Yes, I saw it too and installed now for testing. I believe it lacks feature to turn on automatically when a fullscreen-application is opened.
But I prefer to live with this than freezing my system when trying to shutdown
I will let you know after a while if Keep Awake works good. |

After 3 days of using it, I don't observe any issues with Keep Awake |
