Hi everyone.

I installed Gentoo in the notebook yesterday, encripting /bin, /var, /usr, /tmp and /home with cryptsetup in LUKS format, but in the boot the kernel say that can not start the sys init ( OpenRC ) that are in /usr.

How I can resolve this issue?
Do I need create the initramfs with encrypt support? Because I didn´t.

shyan,

Welcome to Gentoo.

Yes you must unlock the encrypted things before you can use them.
That means an initrd since you need user space tools for that.

One question, Why the kernel need that if in the kernel compilation I did mark with [*] in all options for crypto devices?

shyan,

The kernel options provide the kernel things you need so that the encryted devices can be made available to use.
To actually use them needs programs that are not a part of the kernel.
