Hey there everyone!
So I have been running Gentoo stable for the past few months and I am enjoying it thoroughly. Now for my education I needed to install the IntelliJ IDEA for java development and I noticed that this package has been masked. So when I try to emerge it, I get asked to add the ~amd64 keyword to my package.accept_keywords config as to show I use this package from the testing branch.
Code: |
sudo emerge --ask dev-util/idea-community
* IMPORTANT: 3 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.
* Use eselect news read to view new items.
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ~] dev-util/idea-community-2017.2.2.172.3757.52 USE="-custom-jdk"
The following keyword changes are necessary to proceed:
(see "package.accept_keywords" in the portage(5) man page for more details)
# required by dev-util/idea-community (argument)
=dev-util/idea-community-2017.2.2.172.3757.52 ~amd64
Would you like to add these changes to your config files? [Yes/No] no

Obviously I am kind of scared..... Will I break my system by doing so? What are things I should look out for when upgrading my system again? |

You can use a unstable package with a stable system (my pc is a hybrid).
No in this case only idea-community package need to be unmasked and it can't break system _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |
