Does it count as a joke if it happens in real-life?

I was working on stuff, updating software, the usual.

I glance at the clock.

It reads 4:04.

My immediate thought was "gawd, yet another thing that needs fixing!"...

I realize what happened a moment later, just as my mind gets to the "fixing" part.

Time for a nice vacation in the mountains or on a beach.

Commie Jokes

* Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under communism, it's just the opposite.

* Adam and Eve were communists! They had no clothes, no house and no food aside from some apples, and they thought they lived in paradise.

* Why did the communist cross the road? Asking that question is anti-soviet activity, and is punishable with the penalties prescribed in the first part of Article 58 of the Criminal Code

James Cameron reveals Linda Hamilton will return for next Terminator movie
...
“As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return,” Cameron said of Hamilton. The Avatar and Titanic filmmaker noted the “50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys” but said there “isn’t an example of that for women” in current movies.

How is it a joke? Check out the image of Linda Hamilton that they use in the story.

To be fair, is it likely many people would recognize her in a current photo? I mean, for most roles, she's been age-limited for quite a while. I wish they'd get over that. There have been a lot of actresses I would like to have seen with longer careers (Linda being one. She's remained busy it appears, but mostly in TV stuff of which I've never heard).

The movie might be, but the article is a joke.

I was thinking more of if they wanted to promote the idea of her as an action star, they could have taken literally the first hit from searching for "Linda Hamilton Terminator 2".

Then I decided to look for relatively current images of her since, well, you asked; that turned out to be something of a rabbit hole. As it turns out, the image wikipedia uses is several years old, and imdb had nothing from this decade; so I ran image searches using the names of a couple of series that she had appeared in recently and otherwise tried to find the image that they actually used and discovered a few things. For one, post-apocalyptic (at a guess) dystopian hair is still better than 80s hair. For another, one does not mess with Linda Hamilton lightly. Also, bonus fact, even when searching for "Linda Hamilton Defiance" or Linda Hamilton Lost Girl", the Terminator 2 images still come up fairly high in the results. Then there is the fact that searching for "Linda Hamilton Terminator" only comes up with that particular image as part of that particular article, at least so far as I browsed through the results. Even searching for "Linda Hamilton Terminator laser forehead" comes up with one of the other Sarah Connors before finally coming up with the image they used. So they had to go looking for possibly the single worst image they could have picked for the story, at least staying within the Terminator franchise. In short, I stand by my assessment that the story was a joke, even a funny one at that, and leave others to decide if she is recognizable now.

Good points, and interesting results from the rabbit hole. :)

Though I still recognize her more form the original Terminator and BatB than from T2. Maybe that's just me.

Blonde walks into a library, goes to the front desk and says, "I would like a cheeseburger and a coke." The librarian replied, "This is a library and I am a librarian." The blonde, looking abashed replied in a soft whisper, "I'm sorry. I would like a cheeseburger and a coke."
