For now I just unmerged it as a work-around, but apparently in my last sync the ebuild for app-text/qpdfview-0.4.16 was changed to require qt5 where the same ebuild previously allowed either qt4 or qt5.
Offhand I couldn't find any bugs related to that. Anyone know why that was done? Speaking of that, I've yet to find a decent PDF reader that doesn't come along with any Gnome or KDE baggage frankly. Sort of annoying.

Basically, every package that has optional support for both is going to be qt5-only. |
