So there's a workaround now! I tried commenting module-switch-on-port-available like suggested in the upstream bug and voilà! :D

It seems as if there's a headphone plugged in/out event generated that makes the sound pause for a short while. Commenting out this module disables the automagic switching.

Thanks you guys for all of your help on this one once again! I appreciate it! :)

Yes, I can confirm that solves the problem for me too. It also solves that problem I described about the Blue Ice microphone as well.

EDIT: You think I should add SOLVED to the title of the first post? It's kinda worked around, but I don't think the root cause is fixed yet.

That's great! :)

I'm not sure if there's a policy around it here, what about adding [workaround] to the topic?

Sorry hrnick, I didn't intend to spam your bug report. I want to apologize to you for that. After reading one of the responses there I got really frustrated and then ranted a bit. I'm really sorry.

No worries. :)

I agree with you, they were quick to dismiss it as a hardware problem even though I specifically pointed out that we're a handful of users experiencing the problem and that it does not occur when Alsa is used in the actual bug report.
