Just wondering what the root cause of the earlier outage was today, looks like the database was down or inaccessible according to phpBB error message.
Was there a DOS attempt, capacity issues, anything to be worried about?
Still remember the time the old WiKi went down. |

The root cause was a software update on the database back end that has had some unintended consequences. (The Forums and Bugzilla share this back end.) Troubleshooting is ongoing as of this writing.
I have personal reasons for knowing that our backup methodology is quite good; there's no cause to worry on that score.
