kdenlive 17, segfault on startup

Hello,
I have the following problem:
kdenlive compiles cleanly, but the freshly compiled kdenlive 17.08.1 or 17.04.3 does not start.
The only error I can see is the following in dmesg:

kdenlive[4576]: segfault at 7f4724766700 ip 00007f46ed4e3b2c sp 00007ffff2771330 error 7 in libQtTest.so.4.8.7[7f46ed4db000+25000]

The strange thing is, I think it should depend on qt5, but the error message has 4.8.7 in it.
