I'm not sure what System76 (a maker of Linux based laptops and desktop systems) has to do with SystemD (a collection of shovelware written by Red Hat hacks), but whatever.

From what I could see, they basically ship hardware with Ubuntu, possibly with some of their own tweaks. Sounds like that's about to include their own installer.

Just to make sure I didn't miss anything I read it again, and, again, I can see absolutely no relationship between System 76, their new installer and SystemD.

Is it too much to ask to have the connection made clear, especially when to all outward appearances there is absolutely none whatsoever? There's nothing in that article that's even vaguely political--which would make it even tangentially related to the subject of this thread. :-/

The fact that they're using Ubuntu, and no special notice about not using systemd, means that they're using systemd. They're not specifically featuring it, I'll agree.

Shamus397: I think strites was referring to him/herself on the last post.

I've read it now several times, and I can't see any way you could parse it to get that sense from it (of it being self-deprecating). It's pretty clear that it's a slam against the reader. But whatever, it would be nice if a mod could remove this and the last seven posts to keep the noise level down. :)

He/she tellig that he/she seems to be having too much work and he/she did read the article too quickly and accidentaly confused System76 to systemd.

That is what I think happened. No one is (propably) accusing you, Shamus397, for reading the article too quickly.

Oh my...

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding with Shamus397, what I was thinking is explained by Zucca (who I think shares the same italian culture as mine, where when you deprecate something without specifying what, it is 90% self deprecating).

The fact I am answering this now speaks about how I am active on the forum (in fact at work I can't login, and last week I was almost at work when I wasn't sleeping), and about how I was half-asleep when I misread system76 with systemd... all my fault, I'm sorry.

In fact I did not notice this post was also split... please delete this in case....

Thanks for clearing that up strites.

I now have a bit more insight into the difference of idioms between Italian and English. :)
