I recently updated my laptop for the first time in a couple months. mupdf was updated from 1.10a-r2 to 1.11-r1. Now, when I try to view a pdf, I get the following.

Code:
$ mupdf make.pdf
gl error 65544: Wayland: Failed to connect to display
cannot initialize glfw

Any guesses what might be causing this?

(on a side note that may or may not help, I'm also having issues with the xterm within the wm not allowing me to 'su' to root [I get an authentication failure, but not if I 'su' from the console outside of X or from over ssh; this started when I updated the kernel and enabled XATTRS on the fs], and a couple other weird errors.)

Thanks for the help!

EE
UPDATE: apparently there is already a bug filed here.

gl error 65544: Wayland: Failed to connect to display
cannot initialize glfw
