So, all I think I did was 1) update my kernel to the 4.11 series, and 2) enable XATTR settings for all my file systems. Then reboot.

Now, my wm (enlightenment) is giving me a warning that it can't enable power management, and all the related options on the root menu are unavailable.

Second, trying to 'su' to any user from a virtual terminal (urxvt, aterm, etc.) fails with "Authenticatio failure."

Are these related? How do I fix them?

Thanks for the help,

EE

I think you have this problem. It's a kernel bug. At least Enlightenment is affected by it.
