on Gentoo ~amd64 hardened boxen while playing CounterStrike Global Offensive keeps getting kicked of almost all servers for VAC.
reasons being stated are: non-vac-compatible software(gentoo?) and vac not able to connect..
i do not have vac ban, so what can i do to not being kicked off by vac all the time?
could it be firewall issue, or what else? |

That kind of abuse is why I refuse to patronize products encumbered by Valve's middleware. I concur with Roman. This is proprietary closed-source code, so we cannot debug it. Bug its authors to release their code or make it work properly. If I had to guess, I would say they do not work correctly on hardened kernels. Just from reading the publicly known information about it, I expect it is engaging in various tactics more appropriately found in malware (poking around in other processes, possibly stopping/starting them while it explores), which would rightly be disrupted by a hardened kernel. Personally, I would ask for a refund and go find a game less hostile to my system. |
