I wasn't sure where to put this but in Debian I have a problem with repeating keys (I hit a key once and it repeats) so long story short I just disabled it.
Now when I'm installing gentoo on the same laptop I have the same issue. Obviously it must be a laptop issue but this laptop is very new. Any thoughts ideas suggestions?
Thanks |

mystified ...
I'm assuming as you're installing you're talking about the console, if that is the case you can adjust the rate with 'kbdrate -r <rate>' (see 'man kbdrate' for details about 'rate'). If you wanted to disable repeat you might try 'kbdrate -r 0' (this might not be an accepted value, but it should then hopefully select the lowest, if not then try '2.0').
If you mean x11, then you should look at the 'r' switch to 'xset'.
