Im in a liveUSB to install gentoo on my desktop, but for some reason I keep getting the message Wired connection activated, deactivated, activated, deactivated... In an endless loop. Freaking annoying and its difficult to do anything that requires network connection. I also see another message that keeps saying DHCP failed to start.

I also see the interface is named eno1, is this normal?

What's on the liveusb?
Pretty much the whole forum will recommend systemrescuecd.

@bolded That's udev's "predictable interface naming". freedesktop.org decided eth0 was too hard to guess every single time I assume.

Hello.
As a simple workaround, you may also stop dhcp service and set up a static IP for your installation

I ran /etc/init.d/dhcpcd restart and it apparently fixed it. Thank you!
