|
|
Hi,
after downloading Plasma Applications (not the kde-apps/kde-apps-meta, but only some of them), I notice there is no sound menu in the systray, and I can't hear any sound. Could it be a package I did not emerge? The packages I did not emerge are the ones related to development tools and games. Everything else is there. In the systray there is an icon, and if I move my mouse over it it says: Mixer cannot be found...maybe it is related to the sound problem, or not, I don't know. Hope someone can help me with this.
EDIT I was able to get the sound menu back, by installing the media-sound pulseaudio package, and now I see two sound icons, and still can't hear any sound....

I do you install Alsamixer? Is it the media-libs/alsa-lib package? |

I know I have installed the media-libs/alsa-lib 1.1.2 package, if it is the one you're referring to... |

Sound is back! I had to go through the kernel configuration and set a couple of items, I am glad I solved it. |
