I recently did a world update, (I don't remember exactly which packages where updated, but I think one of them said something about python.) and now cmus's interface gets flooded with random characters when the interface updates. (song change, selecting new track etc.)
Is anyone else experiencing this? What can I do to remedy it? (Keeping in mind that I don't remember what was changed in the last update.)

Ok, so the packages I updated were:
>>> sys-libs/zlib-1.2.10
>>> dev-lang/python-exec-2.4.4
>>> app-eselect/eselect-python-20160516
>>> dev-util/ctags-5.8
>>> media-libs/flac-1.3.2

But media-libs/flac is the only one of these packages that is a dependency of cmus, and that shouldn't have anything to do with drawing the UI, surely. Which means that the update must have effected something deeper in the dependency tree right?

If updated packages are only those, sincerely I don't know..
You can try to downgrade cmus to 2.7.1 because latest stable is a release candidate (2.8.0_rc0), but is an assumption.

Thanks for the suggestion, but this effects all available cmus versions as far as I can tell.
I have fixed the problem though. Turns out media-libs/flac was the culprit, upon further investigation I noticed that the UI glitch only happened when loading flac files, so I masked >media-libs/flac-1.3.1-r1 and the problem appears to be resolved.
