[SOLVED] Installing on X99 w/ i7-6800K and Firepro W7100

In the newest stepping of Intel desktop processors they have discontinued the presence of integrated graphics. Booting the system from the install CD with the card and a monitor present produced no output. It's entirely possible this is a hardware configuration issue as I didn't see any BIOS output either, but as far as Linux goes, will this system boot with any kind of output or will I need to configure it headlessly?

Possible options:

Check hardware configuration.
Install Gentoo headlessly.
Install Windows, install Gentoo from VM, boot Gentoo.
Purchase a cheaper card which will work, then get drivers working.

Based on the fact a Windows DVD did not provide any screen output either, I want to assume that there is some hardware misconfiguration. How would I find if this is the case, and what might it be?

What kind of computer? Laptop? Desktop? Factory built? Owner built?
Was there any sign of life? Fans running, power on light(s), disk activity? If so, Check proper installation of the firepro including 6pin auxiliary power connected. If that passes but still no video, replace with a cheap video card and boot windows or ubuntu. If you get a display, return the defective firepro video card.
If no signs of life, check power at the wall(voltmeter), at the power supply input(cable in wall socket, voltmeter), at the power supply outputs(computer power supply tester): if good so far; suspect cpu, motherboard, or memory.

Well, I feel kind of stupid: turns out that the latch goes down on the DIMM slots without the RAM being inserted completely.
