The title says it all. I see the reference to examples being banned but I am not really sure how I am supposed to fix it. I tried emerging with USE -Examples for paramiko but it still bombed. Thanks as always.
Code: | * The specific snippet of code:
* [[ ${EAPI} != [45] ]] && die "EXAMPLES are banned in EAPI ${EAPI}";
*
* If you need support, post the output of `emerge --info '=dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2::gentoo'`,
* the complete build log and the output of `emerge -pqv '=dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2::gentoo'`.
* The complete build log is located at '/var/tmp/portage/dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2/temp/build.log'.
* The ebuild environment file is located at '/var/tmp/portage/dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2/temp/environment'.
* Working directory: '/var/tmp/portage/dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2/work/paramiko-2.0.2-python3_4'
* S: '/var/tmp/portage/dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2/work/paramiko-2.0.2'
>>> Failed to emerge dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2, Log file:

# emerge --info '=dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2::gentoo' |wgetpaste

Code: | # emerge -pqv '=dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2::gentoo'
[ebuild U ] dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2 [1.16.0] USE="examples -doc" PYTHON_TARGETS="python2_7 python3_4 (-python3_5)"

Likely a bug in the ebuild. Awaiting devs.

You are sure that you have removed use flag examples? I tried and without examples works _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

OP shows both a UUOC and that he has not set USE=-examples. The inline emerge -pqv output shows USE=examples, and the wgetpaste'd build log also shows USE=examples. |

Hmmm. I set it "-" in ufed.
Also this is what is in my make file.
USE="acpi alsa cryptsetup gphoto2 ibus kde multislot networkmanager plasma \
qt4 scim truetype unicode xim -bindist -gdbm -gnome -nepomuk \
-pulseaudio -qt5 -systemd"
Is it being picked up from someplace else?
Let me try again. Thanks. |

In this case example use is forced by the paramiko ebuild.
Use package.use to disable it
Code: | # echo "=dev-python/paramiko-2.0.2 -example" >> /etc/portage/package.use |

That did the trick. Thanks, everyone. I am not sure why but I had a double, conflicting, entry in package.use. Once I cleaned that up all went smoothly. Live and learn. |
