Does gentoo have something like iio-sensor-proxy to use sensors(like ambient light) in gnome?
Is there any other way than compile it from github?

I've once wrote an ebuild. You can get it from https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=565904

Great! Thanks! It installed fine, I can start it, but it has no effect. Should I use any patches? Running Gnome 3.20.2 on Wayland...

See https://github.com/hadess/iio-sensor-proxy/blob/master/README.md#usage for usage information. You need to enable the appropriate sensors in your kernel.
You can start the sensor-proxy with
Code:
systemctl start iio-sensor-proxy.service
and enable it with
Code:
systemctl enable iio-sensor-proxy.service

I have enabled iio sensors in kernel, they're detected correctly, according to hwinfo and are listed in /dev as iio:device0, and so forth.
As I said before, I can start the service with systemctl start, but I'm unable to "enable" it. Such command would fail with "This unit files have no installation config..." message.
Running this service changes nothing-Gnome behaves exactly as before service start...

Upd. After updating virtual udev and init scripts, while trying to solve my other problem, I noticed, sensors are working now! Thanks!
The only problem is screen rotation in gnome on wayland. There is an icon to disable screen rotation and it responds to ALS, but rotation itself doesn't work on Wayland for me...

I've only used screen rotation with x11. I'm not able to help with wayland related issues, sorry.
