I'm having trouble starting a qemu instance of gentoo.
What networking device should I pick in qemu to have it detected by the livecd's initramfs? |

shentino,
A qemu instance it for all intents and purposes, provides fake hardware.
When you run lspci in the guest, what hardware does it have?
qemu provides a choice when you configure your guest.
If your host kernel has virtio support, guests may use the virtio interfaces.
This avoids using emulated hardware at all. _________________ Regards,
