|
|
I've found at least six different ways now of changing between virtual consoles on the PPC platform. None of them work on my iBook (it's the white model with dual USB ports). I have tried everything, but all that comes up are scancode errors or control codes.
Perhaps I have the wrong keymap installed? I'm not sure of the correct one for the iBook.
All I want to do is change VTs! Someone please help!
Thanks,
-David |

On my iBook (also white) on the ADB keyboard it works by pressing the "fn" and "command" and "f2" keys (all lower left hand side). If you prefer to work with an attached usb-keyboard "command" and "f2" should should be sufficient. In every case it works on my iBook. |

On my Dual USB iBook I have to use "ctrl" + "command" + "fn" + F-number. For me, the order that I press down the keys matters. Make sure that you press down the "fn" key after pressing the "ctrl" and "command" keys or else it wont work. |

on my powermac 6400, i just have to press the left command key. very useful because the keyboard is one of those small apple adb ones without function keys!
though i found that pressing command cycles through the consoles in backwards order. |

I think gentoo ppc change virtual consloe is very good than debian ppc with my dual usb iBook.
I am not sure why can change virtual console in you gentoo ppc, but
I sugest you checkd "Yes" in two kernel options that is
in Character devices , "Virtual terminal" and "Support for console on vitual terminal"
If work virtual console,
"alt + fn + f1 .. f6.. " , "apple command key" and "alt + left .. right key" are used to change virtual console. |
