Hi all. I just installed KDE Plasma after the wiki indications.
The problem is KDE doesn't start, the prompt appears but nothing else.
I tried CTRL-C but nothing, the prompt remains on a black screen and that's all.
what should i do?

Do you have black screen after "startx" command?
If it is so, the problem could be not correct kernel setup (for exemple relatively to video card) or you need an appropriate video card driver, or you haven't installed all necessary KDE packages...

For terminal you can use "ctrl+alt+f2" (or "ctrl+alt+f3 ecc...).
or you can enter in your gentoo environment by chroot, but it is easier the first.

Moreover, what video card do you have?
But, before see at the kernel, what is the result of this command?

Quote:
emerge -pv kde-plasma/plasma-meta

unfortunatly i cannot get a terminal 'cause CTR ALT F2 is sent to the host machine, not to the virtualbox.

I have Gentoo installed in a HDD, but i also have another Gentoo installed in Virtualbox (under Windows) only for testing.
If i push "CTR ALT F2" i get a new bash in my virtualbox window and it work fine...
if you can't do it, (but i don't know why) you must enter in your environment by chroot from iso image of minimal CD installation (as for the installation) - Device menù of virtualbox

Try only with ALT+F2 (without CTRL), but it should be the same thing

Try to see which package need kde-apps/kdepasswd with
Code:
$ equery d kde-apps/kdepasswd

If nothing packages depend on it you can unmerge this

kdm is old login manager for kde4. Plasma 5 use sddm by default.
If you want plasma 5 you can unmerge kdm and kdepasswd.

I installed first the base system, then X system then KDE.
It took several days, maybe i forgott something to install\
i don't know.
I just wanted to learn to install Gentoo...
I know that i have a lot to learn, i'm just a newbie, don't be tough with me.
I take it all from the begining, i'll install Gnome or Enlightenment, i think it will be easier then Plasma.\

Thanks for your time, guys.

Not at all necessary, I'm just wondering a) what Wiki you have been following and b) what brought KDM onto your system. That would make it easier to help you (and possible improve/adapt said Wiki).
