If any of the ebuild maintainers are hanging out here: please update to a newer neomutt patch set. Current is 20160710, we need 20160820 or newer. The reason is that the sidebar patch interferes with the compressed folders patch even when unUSEd.

Thanks.

If you're in a hurry, create a local overlay and copy mutt ebuild changing line
Code:
NEOMUTT="neomutt-20160710"

with
Code:
NEOMUTT="neomutt-20160826"

Anyway, the correct way is open a bug.

Just to close this off, I waited a bit and am now on 1.7.0-r5, no problems found.

1.7.1-r2 has a serious problem with basic mutt functionality.

If you tag several messages and save them to another mailbox, all messages are saved twice. Vanilla mutt 1.7.1 doesn't have that problem, and I don't know if previous versions had it.

If I have some time later this week, I'll try to figure out which patch is responsible.

I'm fairly confident it's features-extra/0011-feature-notmuch.patch. And I'm building with USE=-notmuch.

It's a huge patch at 150k, touching 42 files, so I'm not going to dig into it.

The symptoms again: saving a single message to another mailbox works fine. Saving any number of tagged messages, including one, saves each messages twice.
