is there an easy way to disable the mousepad temporary while typing? my laptop doesn't have a button for this.

my XF86Config looks like this:
Code:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier  "Mouse0"
Driver      "mouse"
Option  "Protocol"        "IMPS/2"
Option          "ZAxisMapping"  "4 5"
Option          "Device"        "/dev/input/mice"
EndSection

thx!
michi

and a compatability list

obligatory portage reference :)
Code:
*  x11-misc/synaptics

Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ]
Size of downloaded files: 109 kB

It is an iBook2, G3 500MHz. I thought all Mouse(pads) use a generic driver. My modell is not listed in the compatibility list.

I found the "trackpad" command (it's part of the powerpc tools). With this program I can diable tipping and the selection, but not the whole trackpad.

whilst goggling I found this

http://kerneltrap.org/node/view/645/3067

DO you need help trying to get that installed?

it's for the 2.4 series, and I'm not sure if it's in the actual code. you could make a shell script that changes whatever setting in /proc when you wanted to disable your mouse, then toggle it back on with like a keystroke. tell me what you think

EDIT: http://kerneltrap.org/sup/645/trackpad-2.patch

here's a patch. sorry that can't test it.
