When I run the "lilo" command to install the bootloader I get the following warnings:
Warning: device-mapper (254) referenced in /proc/partitions,
but LILO is configured without DEVMAPPER Option. Skipping device.
Warning: device-mapper (254) referenced in /proc/partitions,

Warning: device-mapper (254) referenced in /proc/partitions,
Why do I get this?
Now, it is true that I don't have device-mapper enabled:
# equery uses lilo
[ Legend : U - final flag setting for installation]
[ : I - package is installed with flag ]
[ Colors : set, unset ]
* Found these USE flags for sys-boot/lilo-24.0-r1:
U I
- - device-mapper : Enable support for device-mapper from sys-fs/lvm2
But what is it used for? Everything works perfectly fine, so what is the warning about? |

In case you have partitions that are defined by device mapper that contain your boot code, lilo would like to know about them.
If your boot code is outside of device mapper defined partitions, it should work fine without that support. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
