|
|
Hello, following the x64 handbook on intalling Gentoo for the first time and I'm running into a problem when starting my usb intall media.
When I start it up I get this error
Code: | *start-stop-daemon: /sbin/dhcpcd is already running
*Failed to start dhcpcd
*ERROR: dhcpcd failed to start
*ERROR: cannot start netmount as dhcpcd would not start |
I looked on the forum for a solution and found someone with what seemed to be the same problem https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1044560-highlight-startstopdaemon+sbin+dhcpcd.html
but following the advice that was giving didn't help that much as my problem doesn't seem to be the same, no proxy or firewall in the way here as far as I can tell
shows enp3s0 and lo up and runnging
shows that netmount is not running
and when I run
it lists all the information perfectly like device and driver and such,
but when I go through with dhcp it says everything was configured correctly,
but still nada.
pinging 8.8.8.8 bring up
Code: | From 169.254.104.42 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable |
and repeats that til I Ctrl+c
Also where If anyone know where I could upload pictures to make this easier?![/url] _________________ People die when they are killed... |

Is there any particular reason you must use DHCP? Set up the network by hand and move forward. |

Show us your dhcpcd processes, your ip config and your dns setup
Code: | ps aux | grep dh
ip route list
cat /etc/resolv.conf |
If two instances of Dhcpcd have been start it can result in an IP duplicate route who prevent you to access Internet. _________________ Paul |
