I use XFCE as my desktop and want to run some kde apps, games mainly, but I like konsole as well. Some, like konqueror, appear to honor the theme set in qtconfig, but others like kpat and konsole do not. Looking at the versions, I'm speculating that those that use qt4 are ok, and those using qt5 are not.

I've been looking around and found that qt5 uses the desktop configuration instead of qtconfig, so it set the theme in "KDE System Settings" as well, but still no theme under XFCE. If I fire up a full plasma 5 session, then konsole, kpat, etc. look fine. Is there some service I need to run under XFCE to get the theme correct for these applications?

Deep inside an ArchLinux Wiki I found this, which seems to work:
Code:
export QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=breeze

Although the fonts don't quite look right yet. Is this the correct way? How would one select the fonts?

For qt4 apps u can use qtconfig tool to set fonts (package qtgui-4.x)
For qt5 qt5ct (package qt5ct) - I never tested that.

For qt5 u can install qtdiag and check what fonts qt detected.
Eg. it shows: System font General font Fixed font Title font Smallest font.

Or maybe u can use qtcurve theme - its very configurable and after some tuning u can mimic almost any theme, but it doesnt work for gtk3 apps.
