Upgraded yesterday to plasma 5.6.5 (qt 5.6.1) and probably hit that bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=346961 - my monitor configuration not saved and I need to reconfigure my multi-monitor conf again after every reboot (adding and configuring panel to primary display is the main pain in that process). In portage tree I see also 5.7.2 ebuilds - wondering, when they will stabilize? Or is there some other workaround (not talking about unstable version)

I would not recommend to upgrade to 5.7.2 at this point.

There's a patch in your linked bug report, can you try to apply it over kscreen? EDIT: Oh nvm, I just realised that's the one we have backported in Gentoo already.

Do you use *identical* monitors?

Can you please try to add the following patch to libkscreen: https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=libkscreen.git&a=commit&h=3cd70aa1cef0b4aab8c13bba049e5b1ccd6ae1ab

EDIT: And the following kscreen patch would be for same-EDID, though I doubt this is the case here: https://quickgit.kde.org/?p=kscreen.git&a=commit&h=1bd8dc46e4cd0836d69464437dff0ed732f731cf

Great Success!

applied patch from first link and settings are now saved!

Patch from second generated error but it's not important anymore. I think this first patch can pushed to the portage tree

Thanks genstorm!!
