Hi all,
After a emerge -eu world on my gentoo 1.2 system dep-clean gives a whole lot of stuff in green, and a whole lot of those packages that are 'in the green' also in yellow.
I have checked some of them, but all those checked are of the latest version.
Any idea what is going on, and, how to make dep-clean useful again (as it is not, right now)
Gr.

UPDATE:
When I 'emerge unmerge <package>' and then 'emerge <package>' again said package is removed from the dep-clean list.
An 'emerge -u <package>' does not achieve this.
Anyone? (for this clearly is not going to work for glibc ect) |

Problem solved.
I failed to notice that there where still multiple versions of all those packages installed (found out on a 'emerge -C <package>') 'emerge -s didn't show it either.
Removed the 'old' packages, now all is well again.
BUT:
Shouldn't a 'emerge -c' clean up the mess? |

qpkg -d will show what installed packages have duplicates. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
