When I try to use debugging functions in Free Pascal console IDE, I get the error "No debugger support available". What is wrong?
dev-lang/fpc-2.6.4 and dev-lang/fpc-3.0.0 USE="doc ide source"
sys-devel/gdb-7.10.1 USE="client lzma multitarget nls python server -expat -test -vanilla" PYTHON_SINGLE_TARGET="python2_7 -python3_3 -python3_4"

Partial answer from #fpc-dev@Freenode: to build IDE with GDB support I need libgdb.a. Can anybody tell what is it? Can it be obtained from sys-devel/gdb with some manipulations?
Answer: yes, it's mentioned multiple times in GDB makefiles, but apparently it is not installed in any configuration I tried. |
